Mr. Son said: “The Embassy has closely followed the situation in Niger. Right after the incident, the Embassy sent staff to monitor the situation and coordinate with relevant authorities to implement necessary measures to protect citizens. The Embassy has contacted a number of Vietnamese citizens and people of Vietnamese origin in Niger's capital Niamey to confirm that the situation is stable and safe. No Vietnamese has been affected by recent events. Because Niger has seen prolonged security challenges, the number of Vietnamese here is small, only about 30 people.”

Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Tran Quoc Khanh asked Niger to take measures to ensure the safety of the Vietnamese community there.

In an emergency Vietnamese citizens can contact the Vietnamese embassy for support via the hotline at +21 355 830 5909, via Viber or WhatsApp, or via email at sqvnalgerie@yahoo.com.vn.
