According to SOHR, the strikes targeted the camp near Sarmada in Idlib province, which is controlled by Syria’s Al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Nusra Front and rebel allies.
The US strongly condemned the air strikes. White House spokesman Josh Earnest said there was "no justifiable excuse" for an air strike targeting innocent civilians who have already left their homes to flee violence.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed Thursday that IS militants captured the Shaer gas field in the western province of Homs after three days of fierce fighting against the government forces. About 30 Syrian soldiers and 16 IS militants were killed in the attack. The Syrian army is continuing to fight to take back the gas field.
