Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Viet Tien said it’s necessary to focus on children under 6 years old and strengthen the community based rehabilitation program. He urged the health sector and relevant agencies to provide better access to rehabilitation services for Agent Orange/Dioxin victims, disabled people, and people living near chemical toxic exposure spots.

Recent surveys show that each year, 1 out of 1000 Vietnamese children is born with a dioxin-related deformity. An estimated 4.8 million Vietnamese people have been exposed to Agent Orange/Dioxin.
