(VOVWORLD) - Diverse activities have been organized nationwide to pay tribute to revolution contributors on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27.

National Assembly Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong on Tuesday visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak.

He expressed his deep gratitude to heroic martyrs, invalids and national devotees for their great contributions to national liberation and development.

Mr. Phuong said he hoped the martyrs’ families will continue to promote the revolutionary tradition, participate in socio-economic development, and build cultural and civilized residential areas.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province presented gifts worth 250,000 USD to policy beneficiaries.

Nguyen Quang Thuan, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, said that representatives of the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, and Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs have visited policy beneficiaries.

“The Department has coordinated with the Fatherland Front, social organizations, and the local governments at all levels to mobilize financial resources to take care of people with meritorious services,” Thuan added.

The Hanoi administration presented 121,000 gifts to people with meritorious services.

A delegation of the Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs visited city's martyrs’ cemeteries and revolutionary historical sites.

On this occasion, 30,000 policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services in Hanoi received free medicine and gifts.
