The ceremony on Wednesday aimed to strengthen forecast and early warning systems in the short and long run to protect people’s well-being and properties; promote effective management and protection, and sustainable use of groundwater and water resources for the lives of today’s and tomorrow’s generations; and raise awareness of energy efficiency for the sustainable future of the planet and humanity.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc delivered his message at the event, urging  all people and political social organizations as key stakeholders for the climate change response success and sustainable development goals.

“Please act more responsibly to use water resources more prudently and economically for water security and livelihood and active environmental protection for a cleaner and greener environment, especially successfully planting one billion green trees by 2025. Please be united and consensus in strong actions to protect community livelihood and the water resources for the nation now and in the future so that no one is left behind,” President Phuc said.
