(VOVworld) – The 9^th session of Laos’ 7^th National Assembly opened on Wednesday in the capital Vientiane. The session, which lasts for 20 days, will discuss the government report on the implementation of the socio-economic plan, the plans for national budgetary and monetary policy in 2014-2015, and orientations for the fiscal year 2015-2016.

Chairman of Laos National Assembly Pany Yathotu said: “At this session, the deputies will hear comments from the National Assembly Standing Committee, and reports from the government inspectorate, the Supreme People’s Procuracy and People’s Supreme Court. Representatives from the Fatherland Front, and central mass organizations will also make proposals on the National Assembly’s operation and representatives from ministries will answer questions from the deputies. The session is significant and will have great impact on the implementation of the socio-economic plan and national budget plan for 2014-2015”.  

The deputies also discussed new draft laws and revised laws.
