(VOVworld) - An estimated 70,000 pro-Western Ukrainians marched through central Kiev yesterday to protest President Viktor Yanukovych.

Wearing yellow and blue ribbons - the colours of Ukraine and the European Union, the protesters put pressure on Yanukovych to appoint a new pro-Western government. The number of protesters has considerably decreased compared to last month. President Yanukovych's refusal to sign an EU association agreement last November provoked discontent among pro-Western Ukrainians and ignited protests demanding that the government resign.
