(VOVworld) - A man slashed 7 people with a knife Thursday in Guangzhou, China’s Guangdong province. According to the Guangzhou Armed Police Hospital, where victims were receiving treatment, the perpetrator was also injured. Local police are investigating the case and attempting to identify the assailant.

The attack came just a week after a similar attack in Yanji City, Jilin province, which killed 2 and wounded 12. In March, a knife attack at a railway station in Kunming city, southwest China, resulted in 29 deaths and 143 injuries.
