When VOV was evacuated during the two major national resistance wars, President Ho Chi Minh visited the alternative headquarters 6 times, including a surprise visit in early 1955. Several VOV former staff recalled their memories with the President during this visit. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, VOV President Nguyen Dang Tien said: "President Ho Chi Minh was the founder of the Vietnamese Communist Party and a number of important press agencies, including VOV. He visited VOV six times during Vietnam’s resistance wars. On the occasion of his 125th birthday anniversary, VOV inaugurated this special memorial plaque as a tribute to President Ho Chi Minh."
