57 ancient Shan tuyet tea trees in Moc Chau recognized as Vietnamese heritage trees

(VOVWORLD) - 57 ancient Shan tuyet tea trees in On hamlet in Moc Chau district, Son La province, were recognized as Vietnamese heritage trees at a ceremony held on Saturday by the local People's Committee in collaboration with the Vietnam Association for the Conservation of Nature and the Environment.

The trees are between 100 and 200 years old with an average diameter of 25-40 cm and a height of 3-5 m. They will serve as the key source for the development of a Shan tuyet tea region in the locality.

Local administrators said they will develop a plan to make full use of the trees for tourism development.
