(VOVworld) – At least 50 Islamic State jihadists (IS) were killed in clashes and US-led air strikes in Kobane, Syria.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Sunday that this was one of the highest daily tolls for the Sunni Muslim extremist group since it launched an assault on the strategic town near the Turkish border in September. The US-led coalition battling the IS hit at least 30 targets in and around Raqa. The air strikes were the “most intensive” since the campaign against the IS began in September.
