(VOVworld) – The 4th conference of ASEAN Chief Judges opened in HCM City on Friday. Justice of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam, Truong Hoa Binh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Uong Chu Luu, ASEAN Secretary General, Le Luong Minh, chief judges and other judges from ASEAN countries attended the event.

Justice Truong Hoa Binh said the conference aims to exchange information to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation among ASEAN countries: “Integration and cooperation of the judicial sector based on common standards will help reduce costs for law enforcement and create improved conditions for ASEAN people. It will help improve transparency and predictability in the judicial system, gain investors’ trust, and ensure fair competition among countries.”
The delegates will discuss an ASEAN judicial cooperation framework, further integration, the ASEAN courts’ web portal, judicial training, and cross-border cases of family disputes.
