In an interview with a VNA correspondent ahead of the 42nd ASEAN Summit to be held from May 9 to May 11 in Labuan Bajo (Indonesia), Mr. Rasjid said Vietnam has been playing an important role in promoting trade and investment in the region and beyond and has actively participated in the ASEAN Free Trade Area.
He spoke highly of Vietnam’s wish to participate in the cross-border payment network system which is an important step in regional economic integration.
He said Vietnam’s hosting the ASEAN Wind Power Event this year will be a considerable contribution to realizing the region’s renewable energy development goals.
The President of ASEAN-BAC said Vietnam’s commitments to promoting the ASEAN’s economic agenda demonstrate its readiness to move toward a more integrated and prosperous region.
