(VOVworld) – On Saturday, around 40,000 people marched in London to protest about the outcome of the EU referendum.

In a referendum on EU membership, nearly 52 percent of Britons voted to leave the EU. The peaceful march and rally came in the wake of a petition to parliament which by Saturday had exceeded 4 million signatures calling for a second referendum. Demonstrations to protest Brexit also took place in other cities such as Manchester and Brighton. The demonstrators showed their concern about unstable economy after Brexit and increasing xenophobia as attacks on immigrants in Britain soared up after the referendum.
