The CGT union said there were more than 50 demonstrations on the day of action, June 14. The CGT deployed more than 600 buses to transport demonstrators to Paris and unions said around one million people had joined. In the South of Paris, hundreds of masked troublemakers threw things at the police. 29 of the injured were police officers. Other groups attacked a building and destroyed the windows of restaurants and banks. The police used water-cannon to suppress the troublemakers. The demonstrations disrupted transport and forced the closure of the Eiffel tower.
