This is an initiative to promote regional linkage and exploit the potentials of four localities along the Ha Noi-Hai Phong-Mong Cai expressway.
The Eastern Expressway linking Hanoi and Mong Cai border gate connects Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, and Hung Yen. The initiative is expected to make full use of local potentials to create a developed economic region with industrial parks, economic zones, a sea port, international airports, and human resources, and promote business development and attract more investment projects.
Pham Tan Cong, President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “We aim to set up a dynamic economic linkage model, integrating into the world. We will join the effort to create a northeastern economic corridor and develop the four localities into a dynamic economic area of the Red River Delta.”
In 2022 and 2023, regional connections will focus on trade and investment promotion, transportation and logistics, digital transformation, improving the business environment, and developing supply chains for production, tourism, services, agriculture, and seafood.
