(VOVWORLD) - Indonesia, Chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2023, said on Friday that Indonesia has invited 27 world leaders and international organizations to the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta from September 5 to September 7.

The 43rd ASEAN Summit will not only bring together the leaders of ASEAN member states, but also its external partners including China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the United States.

Indonesia is also expecting the executive directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank to join the meeting to discuss measures to enhance capacity and efficiency of the ASEAN institution in dealing with challenges in the next 20 years.

During 3-day summit, President Joko Widodo will lead 12 meetings, including the 43rd ASEAN Summit, and the summit between ASEAN and its dialogue partners India, Canada, the United Nations, and other organizations, and the 18th East Asia Summit (EAS).
