Party leader To Lam speaks at a conference on science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation, Hanoi, December 25, 2025. |
He made the remarks while chairing a conference in Hanoi on Thursday to review the performance of the Central Steering Committee for science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation in 2025, and to outline key tasks for 2026.
Mr. Lam set out key orientations for next year under the motto “Breakthrough action, spreading results.” He emphasized the need to strictly control and prevent wastefulness from the outset, ensuring effective investment and avoiding the loss of resources and opportunities.
The Party leader underlined the importance of removing bottlenecks so that institutions themselves become a “competitive advantage.”
“It is crucial to pool resources for strategic technologies and product commercialization; promote science, technology and innovation through close linkages among the State, universities and enterprises, which form the core of an innovation ecosystem, with priority given to high-tech parks, innovation centers and smart urban areas,” he said.
The State must play a facilitating role by removing barriers, while also acting as the first ‘customer’ of products, services and solutions in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, according to the General Secretary.
