In Hai Phong city, the first Vietnam Sea and Island Folklore Festival was launched, where Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan said it is a key start for turning it into an annual event to honor and preserve the coastal folklore values and stimulate domestic and international tourism.
The festival will also help promote economic development and improve the spiritual lives of fishermen and soldiers. On this occasion, the 2023 Do Son-Hai Phong Festival opened.
In Quang Ninh, the Culture and Sports Festival of the ethnic minorities in Binh Lieu district was held with diverse cultural and culinary activities, including a contest on making traditional cuisine of Binh Lieu ethnic groups, a sport competition, folk games, and cultural programs featuring the culture of the local Tay, Dao, and San Chi ethnic groups.
Yen Bai province organized an array of activities to open the 2023 tourism festival.
They included tours of terraced fields where visitors can engage in cultivation activities, demonstrations of the art of drawing on fabrics with beeswax, brocade embroidery, and Mong ethnic groups’s weaving with flax yarn, making and performance of Mong ethnic’s flute, and exploration of cultural values of the Mong and Thai ethnic groups.
A series of cultural and sports activities and an art program themed “Ly Son - Sea and Island Wonders” were held on Ly Son island district, Quang Ngai province to stimulate tourism.
The events covered a display of documents, artifacts and photos featuring Ly Son as a Sea and Island cultural heritage, an Open Women's Beach Volleyball Tournament, a traditional boat racing festival, a national paragliding championship, a track and field tournament, and a swimming competition.
Da Nang city's Department of Tourism organized a program to kick off the 2023 sea tourism season with more than 20 cultural, sports and tourism activities along the coastal routes of the city and Son Tra peninsula.
The Binh Dinh provincial People's Committee opened this year’s tourism festival featuring the theme "Quy Nhon – Paradise of sea and colors."
