Zoohackathon is a global competition launched by the US Department of State.

This year’s competition titled “Coding to end wildlife trafficking” is being held in Uganda, Bolivia, Saudi Arabia, Gabon, Republic of the Congo, and Vietnam.

In Vietnam, the competition is organized by CHANGE, an NGO for environmental protection activities in collaboration with WildAid, FPT University, and the VietSeeds Foundation. Organizers say the competition seeks to attract talented and enthusiastic students who want to make an impact.

“Participants construct optimal solutions to address wildlife trafficking and preserving endangered species in Vietnam,” according to the Zoohackathon Vietnam website.

The competition will take place from November 11 to 15.

The three best teams will win a cash prize of 1,500 USD, scholarships to participate in a personal development program, and an opportunity to join the global Zoohackathon competition.
