Deputy Tran Hoang Ngan of Ho Chi Minh City |
During discussions at the ongoing National Assembly session, Deputy Tran Hoang Ngan of Ho Chi Minh City said GDP is expected to grow by over 8% this year, providing a solid foundation for Vietnam to enter 2026 with confidence and renewed aspirations for breakthrough progress.
“GDP has now surpassed 510 billion USD, with per capita income exceeding 5,000 USD. We have established an open and favorable business environment. The macroeconomy and infrastructure systems have improved significantly, and especially, the institutional framework of the market economy has been strengthened through numerous laws adopted by the National Assembly,” said Ngan.
Deputy Phan Duc Hieu of Hung Yen Province proposed that to achieve 10% GDP growth in 2026, the Government should accelerate institutional reform, remove legal bottlenecks, boost labor productivity, and fully unleash the potential of the private sector.
“More than 1,000 administrative procedures and several thousand business conditions are expected to be axed. The Government should sustain these efforts while consulting the business community to address the real obstacles they face,” said Hieu.
