(VOVworld) – Thua Thien – Hue province kicked off its 10th culture, sports and tourism festival on Thursday for ethnic minorities in mountainous A Lưới district. The festival plays an important role in preserving and popularizing traditional culture. With traditional games and ethnic sports, this year’s festival highlights the ethnic minority people’s gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh.

During the 3-day festival, an exhibit will spotlight Vietnam’s territorial integrity, its border, sea and island sovereignty, and the beauty of its diverse ethnic cultures. Lê Anh Miêng is head of the A Luoi District Party Committee’s Communications and Education Department: “A Luoi has built a memorial house to President Ho Chi Minh in an ethnic minority community cultural center. In addition to Uncle Ho portraits, the house displays traditional items and several items related to him.”

On this occasion, provincial and district leaders burned incense and laid a wreath at the President Ho Chi Minh Temple in A Luoi district.
