(VOVworld) - Vietnam Film Week 2012 opened in Sri Lanka on Thursday. Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Ton Sinh Thanh said the festival is Vietnam’s first cultural activity in Sri Lanka since the Vietnamese Embassy was established last April. Three of the 5 films being screened are war films which have won domestic and international awards. The Ambassador said he hopes this event will give Sri Lankans a better understanding of Vietnam and its history.
