(VOVworld)- The 2012 Hue Festival  closes Sunday night with a drum performance entitled “Echoing for thousands of years”  after 8 days of celebrations. In addition to many Vietnamese traditional art performances, the ceremony also includes circus performances of Mongolian artists, exciting dances from Cuba and Russia. The show will end with Hue songs as a goodbye to foreign artists and visitors to this year’s festival.

Hue Festival closes on April 15th

With the theme “Cultural heritage with integration and development- a rendezvous of historic cities”, the festival attracted more than 40 international art troupes from 5 continents who entertained the audience with hundreds of performances during the week-long festival.

American Vietnamese Tran Tu Hong from Texas, US, told a VOV reporter that she was moved on her return to Vietnam after 37 years and her first visit to Hue during the festival. She said: "I see that Vietnam has progressed a lot with living conditions much higher than that in the past. This is the first time I visited Hue and I think the festival was great. This is also the first time I’ve seen traditional costumes of so many countries in the world. I can also tell the changes in Vietnam’s traditional long dress, which are nice and unique. I’m pretty sure that I’ll return to Vietnam with my mother and other family members, who have been away from their motherland for 37 years."
