On the launch day on Saturday, organizers advised people to replace their Facebook profile pictures with Earth Hour images. A bicycle parade was held across the city to advocate environmental protection.
Hoang Thien Duc, one of the volunteers, said: “I think this is a meaningful activity, which was responded by many young people. Hopefully, young and senior citizens will join efforts to protect the environment by saying no to litter and power waste.
This is 10th consecutive year that Vietnam has observed the worldwide movement of Earth Hour.
