UN spokesman Jens Laerke said UN humanitarian chief Mark Lowcock will meet donors next week in Congo where conditions in many areas are worsening. Inter-ethnic violence and conflicts between the government’s army and armed forces are the main reasons for the turmoil in Congo. The bad situation made people to flee, reduced the agricultural output, and affected local food security. UNICEF said the situation could not be improved before June because last year’s crop had been lost while local health facilities were severely damaged.
