Red sycamore tree has been the symbol of Cham Island. The festival which aims to promote the marine biodiversity and unique culture of the area includes sports events, kite flying, canoeing, beach games, and the inauguration of a street of red sycamore trees.

This year, Cham Island in Hoi An has welcomed nearly 44,000 tourists, a good signal for the city to continue to develop tourism with a focus on marine tourism and local products.

Nguyen Van Lanh, Vice Chairman of Hoi An’s People’s Committee, said: “Hoi An is making full use of its potentials to boost tourism development focusing on its countryside, traditional craft villages, and coastal areas. Hoi An boasts 7 kilometers of coastline which is potential to develop marine tourism.”
