1.2 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine arrive in Vietnam on Friday morning

(VOVWORLD) - More than 1.2 million doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine arrived at Tan Son Nhat airport in HCM City on Friday morning, according to the Health Ministry.

 This is the 5th and largest batch of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine delivered to Vietnam. The country has received 3.1 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine so far.  3 million more doses of Moderna vaccine, donated by the US through the COVAX facility, are expected to arrive in Vietnam this Sunday. 

Since February, Vietnam has received 11 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines including AstraZeneca, Sputnik-V, Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, and Vero Cell.

More than 4.4 million doses have been administered.
