1000 overseas Vietnamese, including 100 exemplary people, are expected to take part in meaningful political, cultural, and social activities in Hanoi and Ninh Binh province, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs said at a press briefing on Monday in Hanoi.
Homeland Spring Festival is an annual event that demonstrates the consistent concern of the Party and State for the Vietnamese community abroad, and is also a chance for overseas Vietnamese to return home to reunite and connect with their homeland in the warm atmosphere of the traditional Lunar New Year.
As planned, the highlight will be a ceremony of offering incense and releasing carp at Hoan Kiem Lake in the heart of Hanoi, presided over by the President and involving 100 exemplary overseas Vietnamese as well as their meeting with Party and State leaders on February 8.
The Hanoi People's Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will jointly organize a spectacular Gala night featuring hundreds of artists, including overseas Vietnamese artists from all over the world.
