(VOVworld)- National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and four candidates met voters in Can Tho city on Wednesday.

Presenting her program of action to voters in Ninh Kieu district, Ngan pledged to effectively implement the three functions of a NA deputy: building laws, making decisions on major national issues, and supervising law enforcement. The top legislator underlined the key tasks to be undertaken in the near future: “Besides doing the general job of the National Assembly, I and other candidates have to study thoroughly the resolutions on socio-economic development of Can Tho, the area that we will represent. If we are elected as National Assembly deputies, we will work with the local party and administration to achieve the set goals”.

At the meeting with voters, National Assembly Chairwoman Ngan voiced concerns over climate change, and adverse weather developments in the Mekong delta, which are negatively affecting people’s lives and production.
