Built on the site of the former Hai Phong Cement Factory, the Vietnam Cement Museum was officially inaugurated on December 19, 2019 to mark the 120th anniversary of the Hai Phong Cement Factory. This is the first cement museum in Vietnam.

President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House, part of the museum, was inaugurated on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of President Ho’s visit to Hai Phong Cement Factory.

Not far from the museum is a 200m2 area, where a bas-relief of a real worker in the crushing workshop of the former Hai Phong Cement Factory has been created.

Inside the museum are documents and artifacts associated with the establishment and development of Vietnam’s cement industry in different periods.

On display are 12.7mm caliber heavy machine guns used by anti-aircraft forces to protect the Hai Phong Cement Factory during the war of resistance against US imperialists in the early 1970s.

In the picture are concrete piles used to build a steam power station of the Hai Phong Cement Factory.

Plowing carts were used to transport cement before 2005.

The museum also displays wooden crates to contain cement from the French colonial regime, a Romania made 100kg table scale used in the 1970s, the main reducer shaft of kiln No. 3 in the 1930s, and the main reducer with a capacity of 200 horsepower manufactured in France for kiln No. 3 of the Hai Phong Cement Factory in the 1930s.

Many other artifacts are also on display at the museum.

Outside the museum are two cement mills

The two cement mills were used in the French colonial period.

The museum is a destination for cement workers and visitors alike.
