(VOVWORLD) -Just about 15km from the center of the former imperial city of Hue, Ru Cha, a rare primeval mangrove forest, has become a popular destination thanks to its breathtaking beauty and mystery.

The Ru Cha mangrove forest is located in Thuan Hoa village of Huong Phong commune in Huong Tra town of Hue city.

According to the Hue local language, "ru" means forest and mountain, whilst "cha" is the name of a species of plant that covers up to 90% of the local area.

Ru Cha mangrove forest is covered with a brilliant array of yellow leaves, serving to create a peaceful scene for visitors to enjoy.

At the site, tourists can enjoy the cool atmosphere whilst snapping amazing photos.

Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the Ru Cha mangrove forest and part of the Tam Giang Lagoon from the watchtower.

The watchtower located in the middle of the forest helps local rangers to spot forest fires, whilst it's also a great perch from which to take photos of the forest.

September is the best time to visit the forest when the mangroves blossom.

The forest remains pristine and is also home to many aquatic species and birds

Tourists comfortably walk around Ru Cha and pose for photos here.

They can also gain new experience such as learning about the life of local fisherman, sample local food, and enjoy a boat trip on Tam Giang Lagoon.

Thua Thien-Hue plans to expand the five-hectare forest to reduce the impact of climate change and develop eco-tourism.
