(VOVWORLD) - Vi Rong Cape, one of the untouched natural wonders of Binh Dinh province, resembles a giant dragon stretching out to sea when viewed from above.

Located about 70 km from Quy Nhon city, Vi Rong Cape belongs to Tan Phung fishing village, My Tho commune, Phu My district. This landscape still retains its wild, majestic, yet poetic charm.

Vi Rong Cape features layers of rock stacked naturally atop one another, forming bold and unique contours.

Over millions of years, these rock formations have been sculpted by sea waves and ocean winds, taking on mossy gray hues.

Most strikingly, the rocky tip juts out into the sea with overlapping ridges that resemble dragon scales basking in the sunlight, creating an immensely powerful visual impression.

The name Vi Rong – Dragon Fin, which describes the rock’s unique shape, also carries with it fascinating legends passed down through generations of people in Binh Dinh.

According to local folklore, a renowned geomancer discovered a dragon vein shaped like the scales of a carp extending toward the sea. Fearing it would bring misfortune to the imperial court, he used magical powers to sever the vein. The broken scales scattered and formed the jagged rocks shaped like a dragon’s head that we see today.

Beneath Vi Rong Cape are sheer cliffs forming a natural arch, where swiftlets make their shelter.

Vi Rong Cape is a harmonious blend of the rugged grandeur of rocky cliffs and the vast, gentle embrace of the sea. Rolling white waves crash day and night against the cliffs, creating soothing, melodic sounds.

Beyond its natural beauty, Vi Rong Cape also captivates visitors with the simplicity and hospitality of the people in Tan Phung fishing village. Quaint houses and fishing boats paint a serene and peaceful coastal village scene.

Vi Rong Cape is becoming a standout destination on Binh Dinh province’s tourism map.
