The app aims to help people take care of themselves and their family members right on their smart mobile devices.
VnCare, people's health care solution, is a system of services that help users arrange medical examinations easily, contributing to dropping workloads for medical facilities, and improving service quality in health facilities.
According to Nguyen Xuan Binh, a specialist at the Center for Electronic Health Solutions of the VNPT-Information Technology Company (VNPT IT), “Some outstanding features of the app include the eKYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) and AI technology developed by VNPT IT Company to verify customers’ identity and real face. Second patients using vnCare app can register for a medical checkup flexibly and take the initiative in scheduling specialized examination and examination time frame. Third patients can use vnCare to make video calls for remote consultation from doctors and medical staff. And finally, they can receive examination results on the app instead of going to the hospital.”

One of vnCare’s features that medical professionals appreciate is that it opens the opportunity to share expertise and experience in remote examination and treatment via video call.
Connecting with medical workers remotely helps patients receive the best instructions and, at the same time, reduces overload in medical facilities.
VnCare also helps increase transparency, provides easy access to patients’ data, and improves the quality of medical checkups and treatment.
In some emergency cases, doctors can quickly access the patient's medical condition to give timely treatment directions. The app also helps medical facilities manage their appointments, look up appointment information to arrange a reasonable time for a checkup.
VnCare can configure time frames for people to schedule medical examinations and can develop authentication plans to avoid virtual bookings in the system. Thanks to these outstanding advantages, vnCare has been chosen by many hospitals including the Postal Hospital, Quynh Phu General Hospital, Vu Thu district General Hospital in Thai Binh province, Phuoc Son district health center in Quang Nam province, Lao Cai provincial General Hospital, and Hau Giang province’s Obstetrics and Paediatrics Hospital.
Le Manh Duc, Deputy Director of Hanoi Post Hospital, said, “We’ve applied the vnCare app for patients to register for medical examination, who will be prioritized for medical checkup. Even a separate lane is arranged for them to limit contact as much as possible.”
“The procedures to register for medical examination and treatment on vnCare are quite simple. The software will update patient information, transfer it to the staff in charge of vnCare, who will connect with the doctors to schedule an appointment and the exact time for the examination. When the patient arrives, they don’t need to fill in any other procedures but will be taken directly to the consulting-room,” said Duc.
VnCare helps service providers optimize operation processes, serve patient management, and enhance the efficiency of the medical system and community health care system. It meets the general orientation and complies with the criteria of IT application in the health sector set by the Government and the Ministry of Health.
VnCare helps people access health care services quickly, anytime, and anywhere. Wherever they are, people can easily get health care with just a smart phone/tablet and take the initiative in scheduling a medical checkup.
When going to the hospital, a patient will take an order number, wait for their turn to complete the registration procedure, get an examination sheet, then go to the consulting-rooms listed on the card, and wait for their turn to be examined.
Next, the doctor will find out about the patient's information, symptoms, medical history (if any) and ask the patient to do paraclinical tests.
After completing all the indications, the patient will bring the test results back to the clinic for the doctors to analyze, provide consultancy, and write out a prescription. It usually takes at least half a day, or even a whole day, for a patient to see the doctor and get a medical consultation.
By using the features on vnCare – the registration app for remote medical examination and consultation – people will automatically receive a medical examination code, and a specific medical examination schedule without having to wait, thus diminishing time and travel costs.
During COVID-19 social distancing, vnCare helped people reduce travel time and avoid cross-infection at the hospital.
vnCare can also serve people of different levels of knowledge through the easy and simple scheduling feature while the patient's medical data is stored, making it easy for them to access personal health records.
Nguyen Thi Thu Giang of Hanoi said after using the app, “The app is easy to use with a friendly interface. After registering on the app and going to the hospital, nursing staff will guide the patients very enthusiastically and take them to see the doctors quickly.”

People in need of medical examinations and consultation at medical facilities and using the vnCare app can reduce contact and avoid large crowds but still access quality healthcare.
Promoting digitization has improved the quality of medical examinations and treatment at many hospitals across the country.
By developing and putting vnCare - an app made by Vietnamese people for Vietnamese people - into widespread use at medical facilities, VNPT wants to support the health sector and hospitals and help people change their medical examination and treatment habits.
vnCare was honored as a Made-in-Vietnam technological product and awarded a bronze medal at the Information Technology World Awards 2021 (IT World Awards 2021) - a leading award of the global IT industry.
