B: Thank you, Mr.  Gasparri, for tuning in to VOV’s shortwave broadcasts. Our program is also available on the internet at vovworld.vn and on mobile app “VOV Media”. We hope that you will continue to listen to our programs and send us feedback regularly.

A: Also from Italy, Mr. Giampaolo Galassi sent us feedback on July 1. He wrote: “Hi, I’m a long time shortwave listener, since 1974. Just to inform you that I’m listening to the Voice of Vietnam on a new frequency of 11913,45 kHz, daily, with an English program from 16.00 to 1627 UTC hour. My last reception was the one of June 30. Is that an official frequency or a drift from one of your transmitters? I did a check with various receivers and my frequency is right. Hope this will help.”

B: Thank you very much for your reception report, Mr. Galassi. We’re not so sure the program you listened on that frequency is ours because our frequency beamed to Europe in 11885 kHz. We’ll forward your very helpful report to our technicians. Once again, thank you and we hope to receive more feedback from you.

A: Next, we’d like to acknowledge a reception report of John Sarsfield of the USA. Sarsfield told us that he listened to VOV on July 8 at 13:36 GMT on the frequency 9840 kHz from the Central Valley of California, USA near Yosemite National Park and the signal was strong.

B: This week, Ashik Eqbal Tokon of Bangladesh wrote: “I’m very thankful and appreciate you for featuring my feedback during the recent “Letterbox” (dated 12 July 2023) show of VOV. I was particularly impressed by the professionalism and engaging nature of the hosts, as well as the variety of topics covered. The Letterbox provides an excellent platform for individuals like myself to share our thoughts, concerns, and suggestions. The diverse range of opinions expressed by the listeners further contributes to the richness and depth of the program.”

A: We highly appreciate Mr. Tokon’s regular comments on our broadcast which is a great encouragement for us to continually improve the quality of our programs.

B: We’d like to thank you for sending congratulations to the five Vietnamese students who won medals at the 2023 International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in Japan.

A: He wrote: “I’m amazed by the outstanding performances of Nguyen Tuan Phong from Bac Ninh Province and Vo Hoang Hai from Hanoi, who both won gold medals. Their accomplishments illustrate the hard work, talents, and devotion of their mentors and teachers, as well as the excellence of the Vietnamese education system. Their achievements make Vietnam proud, and I’m confident they will continue to succeed in the future.”

Vietnam first participated in the IMO in 1974 and won 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals which were an inspiration for Vietnamese students to improve their achievements.

A: To date, 10 Vietnamese students have gotten a maximum score at the IMO. The first one was Le Ba Khanh Trinh from Quoc Hoc-Hue High School for Gifted Students in Thua Thien-Hue Province. Trinh attended the competition in 1979.
