A: Hello and welcome to this week’s edition of VOV 24/7’s Food delight. We’re … and …, and we’re very happy to be on the air with you.
B: Hello A, Hello you guys. Hey, A. Vietnamese Women's Day, which is observed annually on October 20th, is an important occasion in the country. This special day is just around the corner, but sadly, I haven't made any big plans yet. Do you have any suggestions?
A: Uhm. I’m thinking of treating my most wonderful women to a spectacular dinner overlooking the sparkling Hoan Kiem Lake by night. Sound great, hah. How about you?
B: Me? Well. On such a special occasion, I just wanna to dress beautifully from top to toe and wait for a huge bunch of flowers from my hubby. And surely, he’ll be in charge of all the housework for 24 hours, I mean, it’ll be the day of smiles.
A: Actually, there are lots of things to do to show your love to your special women on this day. And in today’s program, there will be no head chefs, no famous cooks as usual because we want to create an opportunity for amateur cooks to express their respect, appreciation, and love towards the most important women of their lives.
B: Joining us on the show today is Nguyen Thi Huyen, a student at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology. She’ll be preparing homemade chocolate with cocoa powder, a special dessert for her lovely sis, who’s now studying abroad.
A: Well, Huyen told us that her sister is the one who always encourages her to be strong when she faces difficulty. The dish is one of her sister’s favorites and represents Huyen’s love for her
B: That’s great. Chocolate’s one of my favorites too. I just can’t wait any more. Let’s get started with the ingredients. “I am about to make some pieces of Chocolate. The ingredients we need are: one cup of sugar, 1 cup of butter, a haft cup of cacao powder, salt to taste and a cup of milk. The butter directly affects quality of the chocolate, so we should use tasty, fresh butter. And remember to choose sugar-free milk because if we use the sweetened one, the cakes will be too sweet. In particular, don’t forget some heart or star-shaped molds, or any shape that you want your chocolates to be. A tip for you when you choose the molds is to choose silicon ones because they’re soft, easy to clean and easy to remove the chocolates from.”
A: Oh B, it seems like I have all the ingredients she’s mentioned. That’s cool.
B: You should try it as this homemade chocolate with cocoa powder recipe is easy to make and also healthy.
A: And it is also a great snack for everyone hah. Huyen now continues making the cake. “First, put butter and milk together in a big and flat pan and heat them. While heating, you should stir until everything finely melts. After that, pour the mixture of milk, butter and cacao powder into a pan. Stir the mixture continuously. When that step’s done, sprinkle a little of salt over the mixture. And now we pour the mixture into molds. I also prepare here some heart-shape molds because I want to attach thousands of hearts into these chocolates to deliver them to my sister. You should put the molds into the refrigerator to make it solid faster. I finally finish this dish. Via the radio, I want to say that I love you so much, sis. Hope you will like it.”
