(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese provinces, particularly localities bordering China, have imposed measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

By February 4, Vietnam has reported 10 people infected with the acute respiratory syndrome caused by the coronavirus.

Lang Son province has tightened border control to prevent the spread of the virus. Administrative agencies and hospitals have prepared medicine, equipment, and quarantine areas to stand by for treatment.

The Mong Cai border gate has temporarily suspended entries from China.

Cao Bang province has tightened all border crossings. Administrative agencies are monitoring the situation in China to and stand reastandy to deploy necessary measures. Border communes have suspended exchanges and travel. Bui Van Nhi, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Cao Bang’s provincial Border Guards, said: “The provincial Border Guard Command has ordered border units to stop travel on cross border trails. Vietnamese border guard stations and local authorities will work with Chinese authorities to limit travel and prevent the epidemic from spreading.”

The Customs Sub-Department of the Lao Bao border gate in Quang Tri province has distributed face masks and leaflets on nCov prevention to people crossing the border.

Da Nang international airport is checking passengers' temperatures as they arrive at the airport.
