(VOVworld) – Travelling during Tet, the Lunar New Year holiday has become common in the past decade. This year’s Tet holiday, arriving next week, will provide people a brand-new opportunity to take a vacation trip.
Le Hoang Thang of district 3, Ho Chi Minh City, has booked a tour for his family to Da Lat on the 2nd day of the New Year. He says Ho Chi Minh City is usually hot during Tet, and he wants to enjoy Da Lat’s cool weather. Thang said: “After fulfilling family duties during Tet, my wife and I will go on holiday. We want to visit cool weather places like Da Lat and the Central Highland.”
Many families want to take advantage of the long holiday to explore someplace new. Nguyen Thao Uyen of Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province, said her family will go to Australia. Some outbound tours have reasonable prices and tourists can enjoy the New Year atmosphere in other countries, Uyen said: “My family of four people will go to Australia for 10 days. We’ll visit Sydney and its famous spots like the Sydney Theater. We hope to enjoy a relaxing and safe trip.”
Travel agencies say tourists want new and interesting tours at a reasonable price. Lai Minh Duy, Director of TST Tourism Company, said: “Our tours to Europe, Australia, the US, Japan, South Korea, and Dubai are fully booked. Tourists prefer safe tourist destinations.”
When the economy grows, more families can afford a vacation during Tet. Traveling inside or outside Vietnam, they all hope to start the year with a safe and interesting Tet vacation.
