At a ceremony called “Tet Reunion, Peaceful Spring” in Ha Nam province, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh said there are a number of people who have housing, income, and other difficulties who need help from local authorities and businesses.

“We care for everybody and leave no one behind. In addition to building technical infrastructure and developing the economy, we have to ensure social security and people’s well-being. That’s our most important task,” Thanh said.

Ha Nam province’s Federation of Labor donated 8 charity houses and 1,200 free bus tickets to help workers return home for Tet. 10,000 Tet gifts were given to disadvantaged workers.

Vu Van Huy, who works at Dong Van 2 Industrial Park, said: “My father has been suffering from mental illness for decades. My mother is also sick. I’m very happy to receive the Trade Union’s gift to ease my burden and have a happy Tet.”

Ho Chi Minh City’s Federation of Labor has worked with businesses to give tens of thousands of Tet gifts to poor workers and organize free buses to take them home to celebrate Tet. Hanoi’s Federation of Labor has spent almost 9 million USD to help trade union members and other workers.

Dinh Quoc Toan, President of the Trade Union of the Ha Noi Processing and Industrial Zone, said: “We will visit and give Tet gifts to workers who cannot return to their hometown to celebrate Tet. So far more than 2,000 workers have decided not to return home for Tet.”

Da Nang City’s Federation of Labor gave 5,000 gifts and 2,000 bus tickets to poor workers.
