Meetings, parades, and celebrations have been organized across Russia to mark the occasion.
Moscow witnessed a major celebration on the evening of November 5th with more than 7000 people participating, both Russian and international guests. Addressing the event, leader of the Russian Federation Communist Party (KPRF) Gennady Ziuganov noted that socialist countries like Vietnam, Cuba, and China, are taking the lead in the world in socio-economic achievements. He singled out Vietnam’s amazing growth rate in recent years.
In his welcome to the Russian people and international friends attending the ceremony, Russian President Vladimir Putin underscored the significance of the Russian October Revolution and its impact on the development of Russia and the world.
Activities are also taking place across Vietnam to mark this important occasion. Most noteworthy was a ceremony held on Sunday, attended by Party and State leaders, as well as Vietnamese, who have studied or worked in the Soviet Union or today’s Russia. Vietnamese Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong stressed the significance of the revolution, saying all the victories of the Vietnamese revolution were linked to the Russian October Revolution and wholehearted support and assistance of the people of the Soviet Union.
Mr. Trong noted that Vietnam’s great achievements over the past 30 years of reform were results of the creative application of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought, emphasizing that these achievements testify to the vitality of Vietnam’s socialism.
