Vietnam's 13th National Party Congress takes place from January 25 to February 2

The 13^th National Party Congress will discuss the Party’s Political Report, review the 2011-2020 socio-economic development strategy, develop a 10-year socio-economic development strategy until 2030. Also high on the agenda is a review of the implementation of socio-economic development tasks over the past 5 years, orientations on socio-economic development until 2025, a report on Party building and implementation of Party regulations in the 12^th tenure, and a report on the leadership of the 12^th Party Central Committee. The Congress will also elect the Party Central Committee for the 2021-2026 tenure.

Public has confidence in decisions made at 13th National Party Congress

Confidence in decisions, breakthroughs to be made at the Congress

Nguyen Van Mui, a resident of Hai Phong city, said that during the last tenure, under the leadership of the Party, Vietnam gained major socio-economic achievements. Vietnam’s economy grew steadily, its international status improved, the fight against corruption strengthened, and people’s lives improved. After these successes, Mui said he believes the 13^th National Party Congress will make the right decisions to create breakthroughs in national development.

Vuong Thi Lap, a resident of Cao Bang province, said, 'In the past few years, people in our Co Ba commune have benefited from investment policies. At this Congress, I’m confident that the Party and State will continue to adopt policies to boost the development of ethnic minority people.'

Ethnic minority people and religious followers in the Mekong Delta have confidence in the success of the Congress where major decisions for national socio-economic development will be made.

Nguyen Quang Trung, Head of the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city, said, 'We strongly believe that the Congress will make policies and decisions that create breakthroughs in national development in the new period.'

Venerable Monk Thach Sok Xane, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of Vietnam Buddhist Shangha and Chairman of the Association of Patriotic Monk Solidarity of Tra Vinh province, said, 'Like other people, I strongly believe that the 13^th National Party Congress will continue to work out policies on ethnic minority affairs and create conditions for monks to study and religious followers to practice their religion.'

Confidence of overseas Vietnamese

The 13th National Party Congress has the attention of overseas Vietnamese who believe in the Party leadership and hope this Congress will elect competent leaders. Nguyen Van Son, who lives in the Czech Republic, said, 'Thorough preparations for the Party Congress have been made. Party members overseas are very happy and we hope that the Congress will elect competent leaders.'

Le Thi Tuyet Mai, Director of the Love Saigon Group in Indonesia said, 'Indonesian media and friends have praised Vietnam’s success. I believe this Congress will be successful. Party and State leaders will continue to lead the country to further development which is the pride of overseas Vietnamese.'
