Outstanding businesses honored on Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day

(VOVWORLD) - October 13th is observed annually as Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day, showing the Vietnamese State’s recognition of the business community’s contributions to national development.

Vietnam has about 900,000 businesses, 14,400 cooperatives, and over 5 million household traders.  They make up over 60% of the national GDP and employ some 30% of the workforce. Many businesses and entrepreneurs have established trademarks in regional and global markets.

At celebration of Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day on Wednesday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the Party and State always care for and highly appreciate the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs. Vietnamese businesspeople have grown in both quantity and quality, making great contributions to national construction and defense. They always show corporate responsibility and get in social programs of poverty reduction, showing gratitude to social contributors, and helping people affected by natural disasters.

Prime Minister Chinh said: “The Vietnamese Party, State, and Government and the business community will try to turn challenges into opportunities and overcome difficulties to sustainably develop the nation. The Vietnamese business community will grow stronger for a more powerful and prosperous Vietnam.”

Prime Minister Chinh presented awards the ten most outstanding Vietnamese businesspeople of 2022, and the organizing board honored the 6 businesspeople with the greatest contributions to COVID-19 prevention and control and 60 other outstanding businesspeople of 2022.

Nguyen Thi Bich Hue, Director of the Vinh Tien company, was an honoree. She said: “Businesses want to produce the best products for society and contribute to the State budget. Businesses want a stable macro policy, including financial and fiscal policies, so they can develop sustainably.”

The ceremony to honor outstanding Vietnamese entrepreneurs is held every three years. Vietnam hopes to have at least 2 million enterprises and the private economic sector is expected to make up 60-65% of Vietnam’s GDP by 2030.
