The city has strengthened the links between ecological tourism sites and promoted maritime and border mountain tourism routes.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong, Vice Chairwoman of the Mong Cai municipal People’s Committee, said the city is aiming to attract more investors to local tourism and will organize tourism, cultural, and sports activities to attract more tourists.

"We will focus on tapping our strengths and promoting winter tourism by organizing religious activities and educational activities at the Po Hen National Historical Relic Site. We will also develop community tourism in Hai Son and Bac Son communes to let visitors experience ethnic minority culture. We plan to organize shopping tours and promote OCOP products during the upcoming New Year festival," said Ms Huong.

Mong Cai city plans to cooperate with China’s Guangxi province in resuming cross-border tourism activities such as tours of Mong Cai- Dongxing, cross-border self-driving tours, and the Vietnam-China Border Trade Fair. The city will also work closely with localities in Quang Ninh province to receive European visitors from Van Don international airport. With all these efforts, Mong Cai city hopes to become a green, smart, friendly, and safe tourism city.
