The five central provinces have signed cooperative agreements with Hai Phong city and Quang Ninh province to promote inter-regional tourism and business opportunities after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dang Dong Ha, Deputy Director of the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Tourism, said that “The central region heritage trail” across the five provinces is a popular tourist product. There are several famous world heritages recognized by UNESCO, including Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, the Hue Royal Citadel, Hoi An town, My Son Sanctuary, Hue Royal Court Music, Ca Tru ceremonial singing, Mother Goddess worship, Bai Choi singing, and others.
There are many entertainment places in Da Nang city and sacred historical sites in Quang Tri province. Travel to the five central provinces is facilitated by three international airports, a national airport, seaports capable of receiving 5-star international cruises, and roads and railways to all cities and provinces. From the central provinces, it’s a short trip to Laos and Thailand on the East-West Economic Corridor.
“We are introducing each other’s tourism products. In 2019 Vietnam’s central region was selected as one of the 10 most attractive destinations in Asia by Lonely Planet. It has the advantage of convenient transportation and diverse tourism products, including sea tourism, resorts, and adventure, cultural, historical, and community tourism. There are a number of tangible and intangible cultural heritages. We are cooperating to create shared tourism products to attract more tourists,” said Ha.
Tourism in the central region has become a highlight in Asia, attracting 20 to 25 million visitors a year from 2016 to 2019.
Cooperation between Hai Phong city, Quang Ninh province, and the 5 central provinces will offer tourists a fantastic chance to explore the best of Vietnam.
