8 teams from Russia, Brazil, Belgium, Finland, England, China, Italy, and Vietnam will compete at this year’s festival called ‘Stories told by Rivers’, in which each team will try to portray in fireworks the character of rivers in their country. The hundreds of thousands of visitors flocking to Da Nang can choose from 800 establishments, including 80 4-star or 5-star hotels, 100 3-star hotels, and 65 luxury apartments, villas, and homestays.

"It was much easier for me to book our accommodation in Da Nang this year. I booked a few months in advance to avoid the peak season rush," said Nguyen Tuan Anh, a visitor from Hanoi.

"We received a large number of bookings several months ago and expect to be at maximum capacity for the opening ceremony," said Le Tuan, Director of the Han River Hotel.

Da Nang’s accommodation providers are offering promotional packages with extra services such as free meals during their stay. Nguyen Minh, General Secretary of the Da Nang Hotel Association, told VOV: "Most establishments have upgraded their infrastructure, improved their tourism services, and have hired extra staff to welcome visitors."

The festival attracts the best fireworks artists from around the world each year. Last year’s festival also attracted 1.5 million tourists.
