Last year, Hanoi welcomed 33.8 million tourists, including 8 million foreigners, fueling an expansion of tourism routes to neighboring destinations likeThai Nguyen.
Tran Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, said, "Hanoi and Thai Nguyen have consistently strengthened their connections and supported travel companies and tourism service providers. We’ve been developing new tourism programs and models tailored to the characteristics of each locality."

"With the goal of making tourism a spearhead economic sector, Thai Nguyen is focusing on 4 product lines: cultural, spiritual, and historical heritage tourism; eco-resort tourism; community-based rural tourism associated with tea culture; and MICE, sports, and adventure tourism, including cave exploration,” said Nguyen Chu Thu, Deputy Director of the Thai Nguyen Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
To achieve that goal, Thai Nguyen will continue investing in infrastructure, developing signature products, promoting community-based tourism, and accelerating the application of digital technologies to build smart tourism, thereby improving service quality and competitiveness, Thu added.
Cooperation between Hanoi and Thai Nguyen will tap the tourism potential of each locality while developing interregional routes linking culture, nature, and history. The partnership is expected to soon be a primary driver of tourism growth in the northern midlands and mountains.
