Examination sites are disinfected before the national high school graduation examinations on July 7-8, 2021.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training and Head of the Steering Committee for the 2021 National High School Graduation Exams Nguyen Huu Do says localities have prepared different scenarios.

“We need to take preventive measures like disinfecting examination sites. We have put out communications to inform the public of exam procedures. Backup teachers and support staff are ready for any unusual circumstance. Examinees must strictly follow all examination rules and pandemic preventive measures,” said Mr. Do.

Co To island district in Quang Ninh province will have 95 examinees. The district will make allowance for disadvantaged pupils and pupils who live far from the examination site.

“The district’s Examination Steering Committee has asked the local health center to create a pandemic prevention plan with adequate equipment and human resources. All teachers and staff involved in the examinations have been vaccinated. Pupils and their parents are asked not to leave the exam area except for an emergency,” said Do Van Quang, Head of Co To island district’s Education and Training Office.

This is the second year the high school graduation exams will be held during the COVID-19 epidemic, but this year is more severe.

Can Tho city’s Examination Steering Committee has paid close attention to examinees’ travel and accommodation. Pupils will go to the examination site closest to their home.

Yen Bai province has asked each locality to make a plan to ensure safety and discipline.

Ho Chi Minh City, currently Vietnam’s biggest epicenter, has so far tested about 96% of the examinees and examination staff for COVID-19.
