At Thursday meeting in Hau Giang province, local authorities pledged to step up public awareness campaigns and urge citizens to strictly abide by drug prevention and control laws. Communication activities are being tailored to specific target groups, with a particular focus on the younger generation.
Quang Ninh province on Wednesday hosted a meeting, where Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, Chairman of the National Committee for AIDS, Drugs, and Prostitution Prevention and Control, called for effective implementation of drug prevention policies.
"We need to continue identifying, reviewing, and monitoring drug addicts and users, combat and dismantle hot spots, strengthen the national population database for managing drug-related cases, invest in drug rehabilitation facilities, apply technological solutions to treatment and management, improve rehabilitation outcomes, and provide post-treatment support, including job creation and stigma eradication," said Mr. Long.

As part of the 2025 Action Month, the Cao Bang provincial Drug Rehabilitation Center held a special program called “Journey of Faith”, which provided participants with information on the dangers of drug use, trained them in prevention and coping skills, and prepared them for reintegration into society.
The entire political system and the Vietnamese people are renewing efforts to advocate drug prevention and control more broadly across all sectors and communities to help build a drug-free society.
