At a recent meeting organized by the Da Nang Tourism Association, the Sun World Group, and Vietnam Airlines, Da Nang authorities said that developing a night-time economy will be an important part of the city’s growth strategy in the post-COVID-19 period. A night-time economy will help achieve sustainable tourism growth.

Because of the coronavirus epidemic, Vietnamese tourism has turned more to online and night-time activities, which Da Nang city has been a vanguard in promoting.

Le Trung Chinh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang municipal People’s Committee, said: "The city plans to allocate more investment in creating new services to promote the night-time economy. We will invest in An Thuong, build a pedestrian street on Nguyen Van Troi bridge, and encourage tourism investors to focus on the night-time economy."

Promoting a night-time economy in tourism will lengthen visitor stays, generate jobs, and increase tourism revenues. Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, has proposed extending night-time activities, offering tax incentives, and developing pedestrian streets.

"We need a strategy for developing the night-time economy and policies to attract investment. We also need the support of enterprises, particularly big business groups like Sun Group," said Dung.

Since the city launched a new tourism stimulus program last month, it has attracted more than half a million visitors. The city’s Asia Park is offering free tickets until the end of this month. Ba Na Hills offers visitors a cultural and culinary experience of various European and Asian countries. Sky 36 Bar is a notable venue for night-time entertainment. Promoting a night-time economy has become a post-COVID-19 trend, not just in Da Nang, but all over the world.
