The 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign aims to foster volunteerism among youth union members and other young people to boost socio-economic development and ensure social security and national defense and security, especially in difficult, remote, border, and island areas.

Participants will build at least 1,000 charity houses and boarding houses, upgrade roads, plant at least 8 million trees, and repair at least 3,000 km of rural roads.

Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Standing Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation, said: "Volunteer activities must encompass in-depth knowledge and significant social impact. Each union member and youth volunteer must immerse themselves in the lives of the people, eating, living, and working alongside them."

Volunteers will build new rural areas, develop civilized urban areas, respond to Workers' Month, engage in social security and gratitude activities, care for children, protect the environment, respond to climate change, and support ethnic minorities and residents of island and sea areas.

Bui Phuong Thao, a youth union member from Hai Phong city, said: "The Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign is an opportunity for each union member and young person to demonstrate their sense of responsibility in promoting the tradition of pioneering and creativity in national construction and defense. Every action and deed they undertake in the summer campaign reflects responsibility, compassion, and youthful enthusiasm."

The 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign is widely organized in alignment with political tasks and the actual needs of each locality, creating a positive social impact and attracting a large number of youth union members, young people, and social forces.
